Step 5: Let the TV Restart
Once the update finishes downloading, your LG TV will restart on its own to complete the installation. This process can take several minutes, and you should avoid unplugging the TV or turning it off during this time, as interrupting an update can sometimes cause software issues.
Troubleshooting Update Problems
- Update won't download: Restart your router and TV, then try again.
- Update stuck at a percentage: Wait at least 20–30 minutes before assuming it has failed; some updates are large and take time.
- "No updates available" but you suspect an issue: Try unplugging the TV for 60 seconds to reset its network connection, then check again.
- Update keeps failing: Check LG's support site for a USB update file you can download to a flash drive and install manually as a backup method.
