You plug in your headphones and get no audio, only one channel plays, the sound is crackling, or the phone doesn't recognise the headphones at all. A faulty 3.5mm headphone port on a Samsung phone is a physical fault that worsens with continued use. Call 0723763173 and get it repaired at our Nairobi workshop.
Why Is the Samsung Headphone Port Not Working?
- Lint and debris in the port — the most common cause; compacted pocket lint blocks the headphone jack from seating properly, giving partial or no contact
- Bent internal contacts — rough headphone insertion or a yanked-out cable bends the spring contacts inside the port
- Corrosion — moisture in the port oxidises the contacts, causing crackling, channel loss, or complete failure
- Worn contacts — years of plugging and unplugging gradually wear down the spring tension on the contacts
- Physical damage — a drop while headphones are inserted can damage the port or the headphone jack simultaneously
- Phone stuck in headphone mode — a software glitch makes the phone think headphones are always connected, routing all audio to the port even when nothing is plugged in
Cleaning Before Repairing
Before any repair, we inspect the port with a light and fine tool to remove compacted lint. This resolves a surprising number of "broken" headphone port cases at no charge beyond the diagnostic visit.
Port Replacement
If the port contacts are bent or corroded, we replace the headphone jack assembly. On most Samsung Galaxy models this is a modular component on a small daughterboard, making it a relatively affordable repair.

Samsung USB Port Damage Repair in Nairobi › Call 0723763173
Your Samsung's USB-C port is loose, physically broken, not charging, or not recognised by computers for data transfer. USB port damage is a mechanical fault that comes from wear, rough handling, or physical impact. Call 0723763173 — we repair and replace Samsung USB ports at our Nairobi workshop.
Signs Your Samsung USB Port Is Damaged
- The charging cable feels loose or doesn't click into place firmly
- The phone only charges at a specific angle
- Charging cuts in and out as the cable moves
- The port looks visibly damaged, bent, or has debris that won't clean out
- The phone charges but a computer doesn't detect it via USB
- The port stopped working after a drop or a cable was forcefully removed
Types of USB Port Damage
Pin damage — the small pins inside the USB-C connector are bent or broken. This is the most common cause of intermittent charging and data transfer failure.
Port separation — the port has pulled away from its solder points on the motherboard. The cable connects but the electrical contact is broken. This often happens on phones that are frequently charged while in heavy cases.
Corrosion damage — moisture in the port has corroded the contacts. Often appears alongside a "Moisture Detected" warning history.
Housing crack — the plastic housing around the port has cracked, causing the whole assembly to flex during use.
Our USB Port Repair
We desolder the damaged port, clean the pads, and solder a new USB-C port in place. We test charging and data transfer before returning the phone. Most repairs take one to two hours.
