Need TV Repair Services in Nairobi?
Certified technicians dispatched to you — same day.
You plug in your Samsung charger and get a notification: "Moisture detected in charging port." The phone refuses to charge and the warning won't go away. This is Samsung's built-in protection circuit kicking in — but sometimes it triggers even when there's no actual moisture present. Either way, our technicians in Nairobi can clear the fault and get your phone charging again. Call 0723763173.
What Causes the Moisture Detected Warning?
- Actual water or moisture — the phone was exposed to rain, sweat, or splashes and moisture entered the port
- Residual humidity — high ambient humidity, or the phone was used in a steamy bathroom
- Lint or debris — fine dust or fabric fibres in the port can sometimes trigger the moisture sensor
- Faulty moisture sensor — after a repair or a minor impact, the sensor can malfunction and give false positives
- Corroded port contacts — old corrosion from a previous moisture event can keep triggering the warning
What NOT to Do
Do not blow into the port with your mouth — this introduces more moisture. Do not use a hair dryer on high heat — this can warp the port or damage internal components. Do not force the cable in hoping it will connect — this risks bending the pins.
How We Fix It
For genuine moisture, we open the device, dry the port and internal components with isopropyl alcohol and controlled heat, and inspect for corrosion damage.
For false positives from debris, we clean the port under magnification with appropriate tools.
For sensor or port faults, we replace the charging port assembly which includes the moisture detection contacts.
After repair, we test the port and confirm the warning no longer appears before returning the phone.
