Your Samsung shows one bar or no signal in areas where other phones have full service. Calls drop, mobile data crawls, and you're constantly searching for signal. Poor network performance on a Samsung that used to work fine points to a hardware or software fault — not just the network. Call 0723763173 and visit our Nairobi workshop for diagnosis.
Why Does Your Samsung Have Poor Signal?
- Damaged antenna — the most common hardware cause; a drop or flex damage to the antenna cable inside the phone significantly reduces signal reception
- SIM card degradation — an old or damaged SIM card has reduced communication with the network tower
- Modem software fault — the baseband firmware has a glitch causing incorrect band selection or weak signal processing
- Network settings misconfiguration — wrong preferred network type or manual operator selection locking to a weak signal
- Motherboard-level modem damage — liquid exposure or physical damage to the modem IC on the motherboard
Quick Checks
Go to Settings › Connections › Mobile Networks › Network Mode and ensure it's set to the highest available option (LTE/4G/3G/2G auto-connect). Under Network Operators, ensure automatic selection is on. Toggle Airplane Mode for 30 seconds to force the modem to re-register with the network.
Antenna Damage and Signal Loss
The internal antenna runs around the perimeter of the phone's chassis via a flexible cable. Even a minor drop can dislodge the antenna connector or crack the flex, resulting in dramatically reduced signal. This is a common but often overlooked post-drop fault.
